Peter Durant

Funeral service for the late Peter Durant will be held 2:00PM on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Hemingway, SC. Interment will follow in the Wilson/Cooper Cemetery in Nesmith , SC directed by Nesmith~Pinckney Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Peter (Pete) Durant, the son of Gladys McCown Durant and the late Solomon Paul Durant was born February 2, 1952 in Williamsburg County. He was educated in the Williamsburg County School District. He left the State of South Carolina and moved to Nework, New Jersey in 1971. In his youth years he attended St. Mary Hoilness Church. Peter was employed with Galvanizing and Tinning Co. Steel of Newark, New Jersey for 8 years, where he was still employed until the angel knocked on brother Peter’s door early noon on Monday, September 2, 2013. He answered the call and entered into eternal rest. Peter was a person who would make you laugh when you didn’t feel like laughing and he loved his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother elder Gladys Durant of South Carolina, two sisters, Rosa Lee Graham of Orange, NJ and Ruther M. Durant of Hemingway. seven brothers, Wilbert Durant of Irvington, New Jersey, Herbert (Teresa) Durant, Jonathan Durant, Cleveland(Nicole) Durant, Luke Durant. E. John Durant, and Dennis James Durant all of Hemingway, South Carolina, a close friend of the family Gerorad Loninisky, one brother-in-law E.J Williams, two uncles, Buddy John Durant of New Jersey and Willie Durant of Sampo Beach, Florida, two aunts Lucille Davis of Deerfield, Florida and Flossie Cunningham of Patterson, New Jersey, one sister-in-law Mae F. Durant of Newark, New Jersey, and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
